An Anticipated Digital Revolution: Elon Musk Welcomes the Official Entry of "Starlink" into the Iraqi Market

American entrepreneur Elon Musk reshared a post regarding the entry of the "Starlink" satellite internet service into Iraq, a step that sparked widespread engagement on social media platforms, coinciding with an official announcement about legalizing the service's operation within the country.

According to what has been circulated, Minister of Communications Mustafa Sanad announced that the fastest American satellite internet has become legal in Iraq. This comes within the framework of understandings aimed at regulating the company's operations and granting it an official operating license instead of unregulated work, thereby ensuring financial revenues for the state and preserving its digital sovereignty.

Circulated information indicated that the operating license came after government consultations, and that the Prime Minister and the US Special Envoy welcomed this step during previous meetings in Baghdad, as part of efforts to expand cooperation in the telecommunications and technology sector.

The interactions shared by Musk also included confirmations that the service will provide high-speed satellite internet covering various regions of Iraq without relying on traditional terrestrial infrastructure, which could represent a significant transformation in the country's telecommunications sector.

These developments come amidst growing interest in expanding foreign investments in the technology and telecommunications sector, amid discussions about regulating digital services and ensuring their compliance with national laws and sovereign security requirements.
