The Directorate of Explosives Control announced the seizure of a freight vehicle carrying unauthorized quantities of smuggled medicines while attempting to pass through a security checkpoint at the northern entrance to the capital,Baghdad.
Details of Seizure and Inspection
In an official statement, the Directorate reported that field detachments of specialized units, during routine inspection and screening of vehicles passing through the Al-Rashidiya checkpoint, uncovered a transport truck concealing a shipment of medicines intended for smuggling.
This operation comes as part of heightened security and logistical surveillance across main entry points and checkpoints to prevent the circulation of goods of unknown origin, enhance community safety, and curb attempts to compromise the public health and safety of citizens.
